3D Printing Technology
The term 3D printing encompasses several manufacturing technologies that build parts layer-by-layer. Each vary in the way they form plastic and metal parts and can differ in material selection, surface finish, durability, and manufacturing speed and cost.
2 most common types of 3D printers are
• Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM printers) are the most common. These
printers release thermoplastic filaments that are melted through a hot
nozzle to form an object layer by layer.
• Digital Light Processing (DLP Printers) is a 3D printing technology used to
rapidly produce photopolymer parts. DLP machine uses a projected light
source to cure the entire layer at once.
3D Printers
3D printers use Computer Aided Design (CAD) to create 3D objects from a variety of materials, like molten plastic or powders. 3D printers can come in a variety of shapes and sizes.
Shop Now3D Filaments
3D filaments are special types of plastics called thermoplastics. The thermoplastics become flexible when heated, allowing the printer to sculpt the filament to any shape.
Shop Now3D Resins
Resins are UV-curing liquid plastics. These materials are used in stereolithography 3D printers. The photosensitive resin can be cured by laser or light and thus transformed into a solid model.
Shop Now3D Pens
A 3D pen is a pen that extrudes heated or warm plastic from the pen’s nozzle. Whatever you imagine, you can draw. It goes from your brain, to your hand, right there.
